Alyssa Page Taylor Obituary Lafayette LA Cause of Death: Alyssa “Aly” Page Taylor, a devoted wife, mother, therapist and academic, has died aged 38, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, resilience and compassion. Born on 9 June 1987 in Lafayette, Louisiana, she died on 30 April 2026 following a prolonged battle with cancer, according to her family.
Mrs Taylor is remembered foremost as a committed family woman. Married to her husband, Josh Taylor, for nearly two decades, she was the mother of four daughters—Genevieve, Vera, Lydia and Estelle—whom loved ones describe as the centre of her life. Her family say her greatest ambition was to be a wife and mother, a role she embraced with dedication and care.
Her life was also marked by perseverance in the face of serious illness. Diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 24, she underwent extensive treatment while continuing her academic pursuits. She later faced further health challenges, including infertility and an ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2022. Despite these obstacles, she remained steadfast in her faith and continued her professional and personal commitments.
Academically, Mrs Taylor achieved significant success. She earned a degree in Sociology before going on to complete a master’s and later a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy. Remarkably, she completed her doctorate while undergoing cancer treatment, graduating with top honours and focusing her research on the impact of cancer on families.
Professionally, she worked as a therapist, adoption consultant and university lecturer, teaching postgraduate courses online. Even in the final stages of her illness, she continued counselling clients, reflecting a strong commitment to helping others.
Raised in Louisiana, she spent part of her childhood in Monroe, where she attended Ouachita Christian School and met her future husband. Friends and family recall her as warm, humorous and deeply supportive.
She is survived by her husband, children, mother, siblings and extended family. Funeral arrangements have been announced, with loved ones gathering to honour a life described as both inspiring and deeply impactful.
